Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed analysis of federal pension plans, including Thrift Savings Plans (TSP) and defined benefit calculations.
- Advise federal employees on retirement eligibility, survivor benefits, and pension distribution options.
- Ensure strict adherence to OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations and internal agency policies.
- Prepare and review complex reports and actuarial summaries for management and legislative bodies.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of member contributions and benefit accruals.
- Respond to inquiries regarding pension discrepancies and resolve issues with high customer satisfaction scores.
- Collaborate with internal teams to streamline pension processing workflows and improve efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or federal benefits management.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA (Employee Retirement Income Security Act) and OPM regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions and data analysis.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with absolute confidentiality.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced federal environment.
