Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plan benefits including TSP, CSRS, and FERS retirement calculations
- Provide expert guidance to federal employees on retirement planning and pension optimization strategies
- Process complex retirement claims with 100% accuracy and strict adherence to federal regulations
- Conduct benefit eligibility determinations and coordinate with OPM and other federal agencies
- Develop educational materials for pre-retirement seminars and outreach programs
- Manage pension plan documentation and ensure compliance with ERISA and federal guidelines
- Collaborate with Long Beach community partners to enhance retirement literacy initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years' experience with federal pension systems (TSP, CSRS, FERS)
- Proficiency in federal benefits software (e.g., BENEFITS, HRConnect)
- Active Federal Security Clearance eligibility
- Advanced knowledge of OPM retirement regulations and procedures
- Exceptional analytical skills for complex benefit calculations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences
- Experience conducting retirement planning workshops or counseling sessions
