Responsibilities
- Administer and interpret federal pension regulations (ERISA, PBGC) for multi-employer plans
- Conduct compliance audits and investigations of pension fund operations
- Develop policy recommendations for retirement system modernization
- Collaborate with legal teams on regulatory amendments and enforcement actions
- Present complex pension concepts to stakeholders and congressional committees
- Lead data analysis projects using federal reporting systems (e.g., EBSA Form 5500)
- Mentor junior specialists on regulatory compliance frameworks
Qualifications
- 5+ years of pension plan administration or benefits compliance experience
- Advanced certification (CEBS, QKA, or SPHR) strongly preferred
- Expertise in ERISA, IRS Code 415, and PBGC regulations
- Proficiency with pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, Relius)
- Ability to handle sensitive financial data with highest integrity
- Experience with federal grant management and reporting requirements
- Strong analytical skills with attention to regulatory detail
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain federal security clearance
