Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plan benefits for qualified employees across Oregon and Illinois
- Process retirement applications and ensure compliance with federal regulations (ERISA, TSP)
- Conduct benefit counseling sessions for pre-retirees and annuitants
- Maintain accurate participant records using federal databases (e.g., HRIS systems)
- Collaborate with regional offices in Illinois to coordinate cross-state benefit transfers
- Prepare comprehensive benefit statements and annual pension valuations
- Respond to inquiries from participants regarding plan provisions and eligibility
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Human Resources, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience with retirement plans, pensions, or employee benefits
- Proficiency in federal regulations (FERS, CSRS, TSP) and ERISA compliance
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for complex benefit calculations
- Excellent communication skills for explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Certified Pension Consultant (CPC) or SHRM-CP preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a remote-capable role
