- Verify employee eligibility and benefit calculations per federal guidelines
- Respond to urgent retiree inquiries during night shift hours
- Maintain strict compliance with ERISA and OPM regulations
- Collaborate with regional offices to resolve complex pension discrepancies
- Generate monthly compliance reports for federal audit purposes
- Train new specialists on pension plan administration protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 3+ years pension/retirement plan administration experience
- GS-12 level federal service or equivalent private sector experience
- Proficiency in SSA systems (e.g., MAXIS, POMS)
- Familiarity with ERISA, OPM, and IRS pension regulations
- Ability to work independently during night shift with minimal supervision
- Active Federal security clearance (or ability to obtain)
