Responsibilities
- Administer and manage federal pension plans, ensuring accurate record-keeping and calculations.
- Process retirement applications and eligibility determinations in strict accordance with OPM guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of pension files to ensure compliance with federal regulations and internal policies.
- Provide expert guidance and support to federal employees regarding retirement options, survivor benefits, and medical insurance.
- Collaborate with HR teams to resolve complex benefits inquiries and discrepancies.
- Prepare detailed reports on pension status and workforce retirement trends.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in federal benefits administration, pension management, or human resources.
- Deep knowledge of FERS (Federal Employees Retirement System) and CSRS (Civil Service Retirement System) regulations.
- Strong proficiency with federal HR systems (e.g., iPERMS, EOPPS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefits to a diverse audience.
- Ability to pass a standard background check and obtain a government security clearance.
