Responsibilities
- Administer federal pension plans according to OPM guidelines and ERISA regulations
- Process retirement claims and disbursements with 99.8% accuracy
- Conduct eligibility verifications and benefit calculations for federal employees
- Provide weekend-shift customer support via phone and in-person consultations
- Collaborate with HR departments on pension plan modifications
- Maintain strict compliance with federal privacy laws (HIPAA/FOIA)
- Generate quarterly reports on pension fund performance and trends
- Train junior specialists on pension administration protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- 3+ years of pension plan administration or federal benefits experience
- Federal GS-12 level certification or equivalent civil service qualification
- Advanced proficiency in federal pension software (e.g., HRIS, eOPF)
- Strong analytical skills for complex retirement benefit calculations
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts (Sat-Sun 6am-2pm)
- Active security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Knowledge of TSP, FERS, and CSRS retirement systems
