Responsibilities
- Analyze federal environmental policies and regulations for compliance with local and state requirements
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for senior leadership on natural resource management
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies to implement conservation programs
- Conduct stakeholder engagement with community organizations and industry partners
- Monitor legislative developments and assess potential impacts on federal land management
- Manage grant programs supporting environmental conservation projects
- Represent the department at public meetings and hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis or federal government experience
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, ArcGIS, R)
- Knowledge of NEPA, Endangered Species Act, and federal land management laws
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
- Experience with grant administration and program evaluation
