Responsibilities
- Monitor facility surveillance systems and respond to security alerts during overnight hours
- Conduct regular patrols of medical center grounds and access points
- Enforce federal security protocols and access control procedures
- Respond to medical emergencies and security incidents per VA guidelines
- Prepare detailed incident reports and security documentation
- Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services
- Maintain strict confidentiality of veteran medical information
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid security clearance
- Minimum 2 years security/law enforcement experience
- Ability to work independently during overnight hours (6 PM - 6 AM)
- Valid Kentucky driver's license with clean record
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Proficient in surveillance systems and access control technology
- Ability to remain alert and make critical decisions during low-light conditions
- Pass federal background investigation and drug screening
