Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist Customers: Provide a welcoming and professional environment for all visitors, efficiently managing lines and answering inquiries regarding services, fees, and wait times.
- Process Transactions: Accurately and efficiently process vehicle registrations, driverβs license renewals, title transfers, and license plate replacements using state-of-the-art computer systems.
- Handle Financial Transactions: Receive and process cash, check, and card payments with strict adherence to cash handling protocols and audit requirements.
- Resolve Issues: Listen actively to customer concerns and complaints, resolving them promptly or escalating complex issues to the appropriate supervisor to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of transactions and customer interactions within the DMV database.
- Departmental Support: Assist with clerical duties, data entry, and maintaining a clean, organized workspace to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year of experience in customer service, public facing, or administrative support roles.
- Bilingual Skills: Fluency in English and Spanish is highly preferred (Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply).
- Computer Proficiency: Must be comfortable learning and navigating complex state government software and database systems.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex regulations in simple terms.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in high-stress situations and a diverse work environment.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
