Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other security screening equipment to detect prohibited items
- Perform physical pat-down searches and baggage inspections according to TSA protocols
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to alarms or suspicious activity
- Provide clear instructions to travelers regarding security procedures
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate screening records
- Collaborate with law enforcement during emergency situations
- Enforce TSA regulations with firmness and courtesy
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or legal permanent resident status
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and security clearance
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation systems
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
