Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of municipal infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, parks, and public buildings.
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and service work orders in a timely manner.
- Assist in snow removal, landscaping, and general cleaning of public spaces.
- Ensure all work complies with city safety regulations and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with other city departments to support community events and public projects.
- Document work completed and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Vocational or Technical certification preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance, construction, or municipal services.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and outdoor environments.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, or carpentry is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
