Responsibilities
- Administrative Support: Perform a variety of clerical duties including filing, photocopying, and data entry into federal databases.
- Visitor Reception: Greet patients, veterans, and visitors in a professional manner and direct them to the appropriate departments or personnel.
- Record Management: Maintain accurate and organized physical and electronic filing systems to ensure information is readily accessible.
- Communication: Answer incoming phone calls, take detailed messages, and respond to routine inquiries.
- Scheduling Assistance: Assist in scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars for department staff.
- Mail Handling: Sort, distribute, and prepare incoming and outgoing mail and packages.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Education: High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required.
- Computer Skills: Basic proficiency with computer hardware and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) is required.
- Typing: Ability to type at a minimum speed of 30 words per minute.
- Physical Demands: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds and perform repetitive motions associated with filing.
- Security: Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a Public Trust clearance.
