Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex GIS maps and spatial data layers to support county operations and decision-making.
- Perform advanced spatial analysis and statistical modeling to interpret geographic data and present actionable insights to stakeholders.
- Integrate spatial data with existing county databases to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility.
- Provide technical support and training to department staff regarding GIS tools, applications, and best practices.
- Manage and update web mapping services and interactive dashboards to enhance public access to county information.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with urban planners, engineers, and public safety officials to solve complex community challenges.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, or spatial data management.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related Esri software.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL and database management principles.
- Experience with programming languages such as Python or JavaScript for data automation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced government environment.
