Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust GIS databases to support county infrastructure and planning initiatives.
- Create high-quality, interactive maps and spatial visualizations for public access and internal decision-making.
- Perform complex spatial analysis and data modeling to support emergency response and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and public works departments to ensure data accuracy and integration.
- Maintain and update legacy GIS systems and migrate data to modern platforms.
- Provide technical support and training to county staff on GIS software and data interpretation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and database management systems (e.g., SQL, Oracle).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and translate them into actionable insights.
- Experience with web mapping technologies (e.g., ArcGIS Server, Web AppBuilder) is highly preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented government environment.
