Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze legislative developments affecting city operations and services
- Develop advocacy strategies to advance municipal priorities in government bodies
- Coordinate interdepartmental responses to policy proposals and regulatory changes
- Build and maintain relationships with elected officials, agency representatives, and stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and testimony for city leadership
- Manage compliance with lobbying regulations and disclosure requirements
- Lead cross-functional initiatives addressing community-focused governance challenges
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in government relations, policy analysis, or public sector advocacy
- Deep understanding of Texas legislative process and federal regulatory frameworks
- Proven ability to navigate complex government bureaucracies and build coalitions
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills with policy expertise
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with budget analysis and grant administration preferred
