Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and hardware systems during the night shift to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Resolve incoming technical support tickets, including password resets, software configuration, and peripheral troubleshooting.
- Perform routine system backups, patch management, and security updates outside of peak operational hours.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software solutions across government facilities.
- Document all technical issues, resolutions, and system changes in the IT Service Management (ITSM) database.
- Collaborate with day-shift management teams to hand over critical incidents and pending tasks.
- Ensure strict adherence to government data security protocols and compliance standards (e.g., NIST).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support, help desk, or technical operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.
- Must be able to work rotating night shifts (typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a consistent basis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government-mandated background check and security clearance.
