Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and process pension applications, benefit claims, and monthly statements for retirees.
- Conduct thorough data entry and verification to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations (ERISA, FERS).
- Provide exceptional customer service to retirees and their families, addressing inquiries regarding eligibility and fund distribution.
- Collaborate with the finance and legal departments to audit records and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports regarding pension fund status and distribution accuracy.
- Update employee records in the state database to reflect changes in employment status or marital status.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Public Administration preferred.
- Previous experience in government administration, payroll processing, or pension management is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with database management software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
- Detail-oriented with a strong ability to manage sensitive information with absolute confidentiality.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced government office setting.
