Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate pension fund data and records for state employees.
- Conduct actuarial analyses to ensure fund solvency and compliance with state regulations.
- Process retirement applications and calculate pension benefits according to established formulas.
- Respond to inquiries from retirees, employees, and stakeholders regarding pension eligibility and payouts.
- Prepare detailed monthly and quarterly financial reports for state auditors and the Board of Trustees.
- Ensure strict adherence to state and federal compliance standards (e.g., ERISA, FERPA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in government pension administration, actuarial services, or public sector finance.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of retirement plan regulations, actuarial standards, and compliance laws.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences.
- Ability to pass a background check and security clearance.
