In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate processing and management of pension plans for retired state employees. You will handle complex inquiries, process benefit distributions, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities
- Manage Pension Administration: Process and review pension applications, benefit claims, and retirement packages with high accuracy and strict adherence to government regulations.
- Weekend Operations: Provide essential support services during weekend shifts, including answering inquiries and resolving urgent pension discrepancies.
- Compliance & Auditing: Conduct regular audits of pension records to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Client Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for retirees and beneficiaries, providing clear and empathetic guidance on pension inquiries.
- Data Analysis: Maintain and update pension databases, generating reports to track trends and identify areas for process improvement.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the full-time team to ensure seamless handover of information and continuity of service.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in government pension administration, benefits management, or financial services.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with state and federal retirement laws, ERISA, and government compliance standards.
- Availability: Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday) as part of the standard schedule.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with ERPs or pension administration software.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
