Responsibilities
- Research and analyze federal/state/local legislation affecting municipal operations
- Develop policy recommendations aligned with Mesa's strategic goals
- Prepare comprehensive reports and briefings for city council and executive leadership
- Coordinate cross-departmental policy implementation initiatives
- Engage with community stakeholders and advocacy groups
- Monitor regulatory changes and assess municipal compliance requirements
- Represent the city at intergovernmental meetings and hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 3+ years of government policy or public sector experience
- Expertise in policy analysis and research methodologies
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, or similar)
- Knowledge of Arizona municipal governance structures
- Ability to navigate complex bureaucratic environments
- Valid Arizona driver's license
