Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts on city operations
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for council review
- Conduct stakeholder outreach and community engagement initiatives
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for executive leadership
- Monitor federal and state policy developments affecting Portland
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on implementation strategies
- Manage grant applications related to public policy initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 3+ years of government policy analysis experience
- Advanced knowledge of Oregon state regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, R)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency status
- Experience with public sector budget processes preferred
