Responsibilities
- Analyze complex legislative proposals and recommend policy adjustments to city council
- Prepare detailed reports on socioeconomic trends and their governmental implications
- Collaborate with department heads to implement public programs effectively
- Track federal/state compliance requirements for municipal operations
- Present policy recommendations to elected officials and stakeholders
- Manage public comment periods and community engagement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 3+ years experience in government or policy analysis role
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, R)
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of New Mexico municipal governance structures
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass federal background check
