Responsibilities
- Analyze local legislation, regulations, and emerging trends to inform policy recommendations
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research and prepare comprehensive policy briefs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement strategic initiatives
- Present findings to City Council, committees, and community stakeholders
- Monitor federal/state policy impacts on local government operations
- Develop data-driven solutions for urban development challenges
- Manage public outreach initiatives to gather community input
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years government policy analysis or public sector experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, or SAS)
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills
- Experience with public budgeting and grant processes
- Knowledge of North Carolina state/federal compliance frameworks
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- US citizenship required for government clearance
