Responsibilities
- Analyze legislative impacts and draft policy recommendations for city council review
- Conduct quantitative research using statistical software and public datasets
- Develop comprehensive implementation plans for new municipal programs
- Coordinate interdepartmental initiatives to ensure policy alignment
- Present findings to public officials and community groups through formal reports
- Monitor federal and state regulatory changes affecting local governance
- Maintain compliance with public records laws and transparency requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of government or public policy experience
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SQL, R, or Python)
- Strong written communication skills with policy writing samples
- Understanding of municipal governance structures in Washington state
- Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance
- Experience with public budget processes and grant writing
- Valid Washington State driver's license
