Responsibilities
- Analyze local government policies and regulations using quantitative/qualitative research methods
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for City Council and department heads
- Monitor legislative changes and assess potential impacts on San Diego communities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop equitable policy solutions
- Present findings through written briefings and public presentations
- Track policy implementation outcomes and recommend adjustments
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and municipal guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or R)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Deep understanding of California municipal governance structures
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Valid California driver's license (for occasional field visits)
