Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for state legislation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement public sector initiatives
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using statistical modeling and stakeholder interviews
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative impact statements
- Monitor regulatory compliance and emerging policy trends across state agencies
- Present findings to legislative bodies and executive leadership
- Manage grant-funded projects and intergovernmental partnerships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) and statistical software
- Proven ability to navigate state legislative processes and regulatory frameworks
- Exceptional written/verbal communication skills for technical audiences
- Valid California driver's license (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
