Responsibilities
- Manage Public Records: Process and respond to public information requests in accordance with Washington State public disclosure laws and agency policies.
- Database Management: Maintain and update digital and physical filing systems to ensure accuracy and easy retrieval of government documents.
- Compliance & Security: Implement strict protocols to safeguard sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state privacy regulations.
- Interdepartmental Coordination: Collaborate with legal teams and other departments to facilitate information sharing and resolve complex record-keeping issues.
- Report Generation: Prepare regular reports on records management metrics and audit findings for management review.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Records Management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in office administration, records management, or a related government/public sector role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with document management software (e.g., SharePoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro).
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to manage large volumes of data with high accuracy and confidentiality.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with the public and government officials.
