Responsibilities
- Patrol designated municipal facilities and outdoor areas during night hours to prevent security breaches and ensure public safety
- Monitor surveillance systems and respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations
- Enforce access control protocols for buildings and restricted areas using electronic security systems
- Document incidents, prepare detailed activity reports, and coordinate with law enforcement when necessary
- Conduct regular security checks of infrastructure, lighting, and perimeter fencing
- Provide assistance to citizens and staff during night-time operations and emergencies
- Collaborate with day shift personnel for seamless security continuity
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required; associate's degree in criminal justice preferred
- Valid California driver's license with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year security or law enforcement experience (government/military background highly valued)
- Ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic knowledge of emergency response procedures and security protocols
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Must pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
