Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction projects including road repairs, sewer installations, and park renovations
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, loaders, graders) with precision and safety compliance
- Maintain public infrastructure including sidewalks, drainage systems, and traffic control devices
- Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret blueprints and technical specifications
- Adhere to OSHA standards and implement site-specific safety protocols
- Perform winter weather emergency response operations including snow removal
- Document project progress using digital reporting systems
Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on public works or heavy construction experience
- Valid Class B CDL license with air brake endorsement
- OSHA 30-hour Construction certification required
- Proficiency in operating at least 3 types of heavy equipment
- Ability to lift 75 lbs regularly and work in extreme weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent with technical/vocational training preferred
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
- Buffalo residency required within 6 months of hire
