Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy machinery such as asphalt pavers, rollers, backhoes, and dump trucks.
- Perform general construction tasks including excavation, grading, and paving.
- Set up and monitor traffic control zones and signage to ensure crew and public safety.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during inclement weather.
- Inspect work sites for safety hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Clean and maintain job sites to ensure a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or road maintenance is a plus but not required (on-the-job training provided).
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual labor for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to use hand and power tools.
