Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties on public infrastructure projects, including road repairs, sidewalk maintenance, and utility work.
- Operate light to medium heavy machinery, such as jackhammers, rollers, and backhoes, under direct supervision.
- Assist in snow removal and ice control operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Maintain a clean and safe work site by properly disposing of waste, concrete debris, and construction materials.
- Read and interpret basic site plans, blueprints, and safety signage to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Communicate effectively with crew leads and site supervisors regarding project progress and potential hazards.
- Perform manual tasks such as digging, lifting, and carrying materials required for construction and maintenance.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Valid Class C Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical agility test.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in all weather conditions for extended periods.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, or shift work as required by project schedules.
- Familiarity with basic construction tools and safety equipment is a plus but not required.
