Responsibilities
- Screen passengers and carry-on luggage using advanced X-ray and millimeter-wave technology
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections to detect prohibited items
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond swiftly to potential threats or suspicious behavior
- Operate TSA-compliant equipment including EDS (Explosive Detection Systems) and WTMDs (Walk-Through Metal Detectors)
- Provide exceptional customer service while enforcing security protocols with firmness and respect
- Document security incidents and maintain accurate checkpoint activity logs
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel during emergency situations
- Participate in continuous training programs to stay updated on evolving security threats
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and valid government-issued photo ID
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Successfully complete TSA's Security Screening Skills Assessment (SSSA)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Proficient in operating electronic security screening equipment
- Exceptional attention to detail and observational skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
