Responsibilities
- Process and file legal documents including civil complaints, motions, and court orders with 100% accuracy
- Manage case dockets, maintain electronic filing systems, and ensure compliance with NJ Supreme Court protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service to attorneys, litigants, and court visitors
- Coordinate with judges, attorneys, and law enforcement agencies for scheduling and procedural matters
- Prepare and distribute official court records, transcripts, and administrative reports
- Train junior clerks on departmental procedures and document management systems
- Uphold strict confidentiality standards while handling sensitive case information
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience in court administration, legal support, or related government role
- Proficiency with e-filing systems (e.g., NJ Courts E-Filing Portal) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Deep knowledge of New Jersey court procedures, terminology, and documentation standards
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage high-volume document workflows
- Valid New Jersey Notary Public commission or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, or related field (Bachelor's preferred)
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining absolute attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with professional demeanor
