Responsibilities
- Greet and Assist: Welcome customers warmly and direct them to the appropriate service counters or resources.
- Transaction Handling: Process DMV transactions such as vehicle registrations, license renewals, and title transfers accurately and efficiently.
- Issue Resolution: Listen to customer concerns, verify documentation, and resolve problems or complaints in a calm, professional manner.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and digital logs of all customer interactions and transactions.
- System Operation: Utilize internal software and databases to search for customer information and update records.
- Communication: Clearly explain DMV policies, procedures, and fees to customers to ensure compliance and understanding.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
- Experience: Previous experience in customer service, call centers, or government administration is preferred.
- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) regulations is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer navigation.
- Physical: Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs occasionally.
