Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray machines and walk-through metal detectors to screen passengers and carry-on baggage
- Conduct physical searches of passengers and property as required by security protocols
- Verify travel documents and boarding passes against passenger identification
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activity or alarms
- Enforce TSA security regulations with professionalism and cultural sensitivity
- Communicate security procedures clearly to diverse travelers
- Maintain accurate logs of screening activities and incidents
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport staff during security incidents
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship (required)
- High school diploma or GED (minimum)
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license
- Ability to stand for extended periods in a high-traffic environment
- Basic computer literacy for document verification systems
- Strong communication skills in English (Spanish fluency a plus)
