Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and network segments to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
- Perform routine system backups, security patching, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues during the night shift.
- Provide advanced technical support and guidance to staff regarding system configurations and network usage.
- Conduct regular audits and vulnerability scans to ensure strict compliance with state security protocols and policies.
- Document all incidents, resolutions, and maintenance activities in the ticketing system accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the day shift team to hand over critical issues and ensure 24/7 operational continuity.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in network administration, systems support, or IT help desk functions.
- Current valid California Driverβs License and access to a reliable vehicle for site visits.
- Ability to work independently and effectively during night shift hours (typically 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM).
- Proficiency with Windows Server, Active Directory, and common networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls).
