Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and related hardware and software.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for end-users regarding hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect county data and systems from cyber threats.
- Manage software updates, patch management, and system backups to ensure business continuity.
- Collaborate with department heads to assess technology needs and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Maintain accurate inventory records of all IT assets and equipment.
- Participate in the planning and execution of IT projects, including server migrations and system upgrades.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ are highly preferred.
- Proven experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, TCP/IP, and wireless technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced government environment.
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory background check required.
