Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT infrastructure supporting VA medical facilities
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives to protect sensitive veteran health data
- Coordinate with federal agencies on IT compliance and FISMA standards
- Manage vendor relationships for hardware/software procurement
- Provide technical leadership for system migration projects
- Develop disaster recovery protocols for critical VA systems
- Mentor junior IT staff on federal IT best practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of IT infrastructure management in federal/government sector
- Active CISSP or CompTIA Security+ certification required
- Expertise in HIPAA compliance and healthcare IT systems
- Proficiency in AWS/Azure cloud platforms and federal cloud initiatives
- Secret security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Experience with VA-specific systems (VistA, Cerner) preferred
