Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems supporting electronic health records and veteran care applications
- Lead cybersecurity initiatives including vulnerability assessments, incident response, and compliance with federal regulations (FISMA, HIPAA)
- Collaborate with clinical staff to develop technology solutions enhancing patient care workflows
- Manage IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure)
- Provide technical guidance to cross-functional teams on system integration and optimization
- Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans ensuring business continuity
- Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend strategic upgrades
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 3 years of progressive IT experience with system administration
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent certification (within 6 months of hire)
- Proficiency in Windows Server administration and virtualization technologies
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare IT systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
