Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and troubleshooting of the VA's network infrastructure in the Minneapolis region.
- Implement and monitor advanced network security measures to protect sensitive federal data and ensure compliance with HIPAA and FISMA standards.
- Provide high-level technical support and guidance to end-users and system administrators regarding hardware and software applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy innovative IT solutions that improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance assessments, and capacity planning to ensure optimal system uptime.
- Document technical processes and maintain accurate records of system configurations and changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- At least one year of specialized IT experience in systems administration, network engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Familiarity with federal IT frameworks, including FedRAMP, NIEM, and VA-specific security protocols.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), routing, switching, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
