Responsibilities
- Lead Project Execution: Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing for large-scale IT initiatives.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for government stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of project objectives with agency goals.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure all project activities adhere to state and federal procurement policies, ITIL frameworks, and federal compliance standards.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to prevent delays or budget overruns.
- Resource Coordination: Lead cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and external contractors, to ensure seamless collaboration.
- Reporting: Provide accurate, timely status reports to executive leadership and steering committees regarding project health and performance metrics.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Professional Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years specifically in the public sector or government contracting.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Scrum) and tools (MS Project, JIRA, Confluence).
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving complex technical and logistical challenges.
