Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure federal software applications using Java and cloud technologies
- Lead Agile development sprints and conduct thorough code reviews for compliance with federal security standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement veteran-centric digital solutions
- Document system architectures and troubleshoot complex technical issues in VA IT infrastructure
- Ensure all projects adhere to Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) requirements
- Provide technical mentorship to junior developers and participate in process improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional software development experience with Java and Spring Boot
- Active security clearance eligibility (ability to obtain Secret clearance)
- Proficiency in AWS/Azure cloud services and DevOps practices
- Federal IT experience with FISMA compliance frameworks
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in federal healthcare IT systems
- US citizenship required
