Job Summary
The successful candidate will oversee the planning, execution, and closure of IT projects within the state framework, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver IT projects on time, within scope, and on budget using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Manage stakeholder communications, including state officials and external vendors, ensuring transparency and alignment.
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and compliance with state standards.
- Ensure all deliverables meet quality assurance requirements and security protocols.
- Prepare detailed project documentation, including status reports, budgets, and timeline forecasts.
- Facilitate regular project meetings and stand-ups to maintain team momentum.
- Coordinate with the State’s procurement team to manage vendor contracts and service level agreements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a government or large enterprise environment.
- PMP or CAPM certification is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of ITIL framework, Agile/Scrum, and traditional project management practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to obtain a State of Tennessee background check and security clearance.
- Proficiency in project management software such as MS Project, Jira, or Asana.
