Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning to execution and closure, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and stakeholders, to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
- Manage project budgets, resource allocation, and risk assessments to mitigate potential obstacles.
- Ensure all projects comply with Suffolk County policies, state regulations, and federal standards.
- Facilitate effective communication with executive leadership and external vendors to align project outcomes with organizational goals.
- Utilize Agile and Waterfall methodologies to drive continuous improvement and team productivity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the public sector or large enterprise IT environments.
- Proven experience managing complex IT projects with budgets exceeding $500,000.
- PMP, PgMP, or CAPM certification is highly desired.
- Strong knowledge of government procurement processes and IT governance frameworks.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical audiences.
