Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain advanced cybersecurity protocols including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption standards
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify system weaknesses
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts using SIEM tools to detect and respond to incidents
- Develop and execute incident response plans for security breaches and cyber attacks
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with federal security standards (NIST, FISMA)
- Create and deliver cybersecurity awareness training for staff
- Manage security access controls and user authentication systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, network security, or IT security roles
- CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CEH certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Knowledge of federal security frameworks (NIST SP 800-53, FISMA)
- Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure) and network architecture
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
