Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and respond to cyber threats and security violations.
- Implement and enforce Federal Information Security Modernization Act (FISMA) compliance standards.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and risk management planning.
- Configure and manage firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.
- Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and recommend remediation strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the integrity and availability of federal information systems.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff regarding cybersecurity best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: At least one year of specialized experience in information systems security, network administration, or IT support.
- Certifications: Active Top Secret clearance is preferred; CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC certification is highly desirable.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with government IT frameworks (e.g., NIST, DISA STIGs).
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting security incidents.
- Work Authorization: U.S. Citizenship is required for federal employment.
