Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure IT systems supporting VA healthcare operations
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing technology solutions for complex business requirements
- Ensure compliance with federal IT security protocols (NIST, FISMA) and accessibility standards
- Manage IT infrastructure projects from conception through implementation and evaluation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify technology needs and deliver scalable solutions
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive IT experience with federal systems
- Active security clearance (or ability to obtain one)
- Expertise in cloud computing (AWS/Azure) and virtualization technologies
- Strong knowledge of ITIL frameworks and project management methodologies
- Proficiency in cybersecurity best practices and risk assessment
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA-specific IT certifications
