As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining our technology infrastructure, ensuring that our municipal services run smoothly and efficiently for the residents of Las Vegas. You will be the first point of contact for technical issues, providing solutions that empower our workforce to deliver top-tier public service.
Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for hardware, software, and network issues via phone, email, and in-person.
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal connectivity.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot operating systems, printers, and peripherals for government staff.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal and state data security standards and protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of all IT incidents, solutions, and changes.
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware and software updates across the department.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Valid CompTIA A+ Certification or equivalent technical knowledge.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in IT support or help desk roles.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, and Office 365.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with non-technical staff.
- Ability to pass a standard government background investigation and drug screen.
