Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot server hardware, networking equipment, and operating systems.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity measures, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
- Provide Level 3 technical support and remote assistance to city staff regarding hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with vendors and external partners for system upgrades and maintenance projects.
- Document network architecture, configurations, and incident reports accurately.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Experience working within a government or public sector environment is a strong plus.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
